Day 7: The Via Dolorosa




As we set foot into the Old City of Jerusalem, we entered through the Lion's Gate, which is the first station of the Via Dolorosa. It commemorates the way of suffering Jesus traveled as he went to the cross...

While the way commemorates the stations of the cross, that actual places where these things happened are a little different as Jerusalem and been destroyed and rebuilt so many times since then...still very powerful as we traveled and remembered the significant things that took place as Jesus went to the cross...

The Church of the Holy Sepulchre contains the last 5 stations within the church...it was a little crazy with all the people trying to cram into the church...

I also took some video of a powerful mosaic that takes the crucifixion to the burial...couldn't get it in a picture, so I video taped it...
