Day 6: Chocolate Factory, Jerusalem!

So we continued South to the city of Tiberius, which is the largest city on the Sea of Galilee and sits on the West side toward the South...we stopped at a restaurant on the shore called Gilei Gil, and I ordered the St. Peter's fish because I wanted to have the full experience and also to make sure my wife tried it at least once! Aren't I a great husband?!:)

We then continued on our journey and Shlomi, our guide, said he had a surprise for us...It was a stop at a local Kibbutz that has a chocolate factory! We saw a short video on the way they process the chocolate all the way from bean to bar...I never realized so much went into making chocolate! We then spent some time in their shop, really, really good chocolate!

Then we were off to our final destination, Jerusalem! As we passed by Jericho, we could see the mount where Jesus was in the wilderness and Satan tempted him to throw himself off the cliff and trust God to protect him, you can see it in the picture.

We then stopped for a bathroom just past Jericho and there were camels all around, so Paula and Vicki went for a ride...pretty sweet! Don't remember the camel's name...Akbar or something like that...

We then arrived in Jerusalem...I tell you, our driver Aman is a great driver...they really didn't design the roads in Jerusalem for tour busses thousands of years ago. We made one stop at the Wailing Wall also known as the Western Wall, which is the Temple Mount. As you may know the Temple was destroyed in 70 AD by the Romans and they also destroy everything on the mount...they would have destroyed the mount as well, but as I will show you in a later blog, the rocks are just too big to move. So the Western Wall is the place where Jews go to pray for the restoration of the Temple...

There is lots of security, as you may imagine, but somehow we got through!:)

More later...
